Health Data Extraction

Many healthcare entities have difficulty measuring the quality of healthcare and the outcomes associated with various treatment approaches and methodologies. They are restricted to the "built-in" routines and analysis provided by software vendors. These analyses don't focus on chronic disease management or evaluation, or those issues facing specific healthcare entities such as complying with "meaningful use" criteria. The ability to focus and deal with these specific health issues and evaluate effectiveness has largely been a manual effort and this approach is conducive to errors and inaccuracies. By employing automation that extracts data directly from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), these errors can be eliminated and the efficiencies associated with automation can be employed.

Verastream^® Integration Services

KRM has developed a prototype extraction to support analysis from a SQL database or a data source utilizing SQL commands in the selected technical environment. KRM employs a Verastream^® solution that develops reusable extraction capabilities. This approach employs a non-invasive “programatic integration” technology that a healthcare entity can utilize to capture data from multiple disparate systems. We will work with clients to identify and develop tools to access and extract from these various systems.

This client based data extraction and analysis tool does not reside on servers, but is able to extract data from any screen rendered by the EMR application.

Verastream® Host Integrator enables the full range of legacy hosts to participate in today's service oriented architechtures. Verastream^® is a state of the art solution for host systems; it creates reusable services and streamlines and automates existing processes. Verastream^® Host Integrator non-invasively makes legacy data available to the developers without rewriting the application. Verastream® Host Integrator encapsulates host/mainframe data logic via the screen interface – as web services, XML, Java, or .NET components that can be mixed, matched, and reused. No changes to host, or mainframe-application code are required, and nothing goes on the host. This solution is also capable of integrating existing web data with this legacy data into the same view.
